This intermediate level text is appropriate for high school and university students, as well as adult learners. The narratives are based on true stories, describing particular social problems such as sweatshops and child soldiers. Readings supplement the narratives and engage students. Activities include reading about "Great News in History" and Country Watch, for which students read basic facts about countries, compare them, and find them on a blank world map. This four skills text gives plenty of vocabulary support and makes challenging topics understandable for almost any university student. Supplementary pages are available here.

This is a beginner level text appropriate for university students, junior or senior high school students, or adult learners.
